PHILIP APPLEMAN
Philip Appleman is the author of eight volumes of poetry, including New and Selected Poems, l956-l996 and Darwin's Ark; three novels, including Apes and Angels; and numerous nonfiction books. His awards include an NEA Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, and both the Castagnola Award and the Morley Award from the Poetry Society of America. Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Indiana University, Appleman was born in Kendallville, Indiana, and currently divides his time between New York, New York and Pompano Beach, Florida.
