Michael Martone
Michael Martone is the author of numerous books of fiction and creative nonfiction, including Winesburg, Indiana, Four for a Quarter, and Memoranda, and the editor of two collections of essays about the Midwest. His honors include the AWP Award for Nonfiction, two NEA Fellowships, a grant from the Ingram Merrill Foundation, and the Eugene and Marilyn Glick National Indiana Authors Award. His stories and essays have appeared and been cited in The Pushcart Prize, The Best American Short Stories and The Best American Essays anthologies. He holds the M.A. from the Writing Seminars of the Johns Hopkins University, and teaches at the University of Alabama and the M.F.A. Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. Born and raised in Fort Wayne Indiana, he currently lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
