James Alexander thom
James Alexander Thom is the author of The New York Times best-selling novel Follow the River, now in its fiftieth printing. Thom is best known for his works in the Western genre and colonial American history, which are noted for their historical accuracy borne of his painstaking research. His biographical novel about Shawnee chieftain Tecumseh, Panther in the Sky, won the Western Writers of America Spur Award for best historical novel. He received the National Indiana Authors Award in 2009, and was the Lifetime Achievement Award honoree in 2018. Thom was born in Owen County, Indiana, in 1933 and still resides there, in a log house he built himself.
